Pura Vida!

Greetings from San Jose!
Tonight, sadly, is my final night in Costa Rica.
What a trip. And a trip.
This morning I woke up at 5 am, packed my things and walked to the beach to welcome the howling monkeys and early paddlers. These early mornings offer up something more then peace, they offer possibility, somehow always setting up the perfect days that follow. It’s no wonder I haven’t been able to wipe the smile off my face. Everything just seems to taste better here, even the simplest of food. The coffee seems stronger, the pineapples sweeter. I suppose its just good livin’ that thickens the already humid air that makes it so.
I met a cool couple last night, the Seamon’s from San Diego and a local artist named Kent.  We had Argentinian food-fresh fish and rice with a cabbage salad. Aside from rice and beans this is the typical cuisine here. The night before was a hog roast. That pork was the most moist I’ve ever tasted, didn’t seem real. Talk about rendering down a HOG, now I get it. Makes sense why folks would want to hunt and eat as fresh as possible. I tried not to think about the low riding truck i saw the day before that had a fat, adult perfectly pink wilber in it oinking down the street. That pig is feeding a beach full of canadians right now. God Bless em.
After the beach, the taxi I arranged  couple of days shows up a little late, also pretty typical here. They’ll get to what they’re doin eventually.
My cabby, Eduardo who speaks english with just enough of a tiki accent drove me along what seemed to be an endless dusty road to an impossibly small third world airport where I sat and finished my book- the help.

Finally, we were greeted by the worlds smallest plane, back to San Jose. I am now sitting in a stunning villa on a coffee plantation near Monteverde.
If i told you the cup of coffee I just brewed was the freshest and most delicious cup of coffee I hope you wouldn’t believe me, but instead come and see for yourself.
I have a tour at 2. I’ll be sure to send some grounds to you all.
Pura Vida is right. This trip has shown me some much needed clarity about what it is takes to truly enjoy life: the simpler the better. Glad you were here with me to share.
Till our next adventure.
Speak to you soon.
